Do you know that cute little yellow rubber duck that kids usually play with?
A Dutch artist named Florentjin Hofman created giant rubber duck as his art project. This rubber duck has visited several cities around the world: Saint-Nazaire (France), Osaka (Japan), Auckland (New Zealand), Los Angeles (US), Taoyuan (Taiwan), etc. And now it’s coming to Seoul!
The Rubber Duck Project will be held in Seokchon Lake, Seoul until November 14, 2014. The closest subway station to Seokchon Lake is Jamsil station (Line #2). Go to exit 2 or 3 and just follow where the crowd goes. LOL.
I first heard about this when my friend in Taiwan posted photos of the duck when it was there last year. So happy that I can see it with my own eyes. Yeayy! On the official website, it is said that The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn’t discriminate people and doesn’t have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. Really? I don’t know much about the healing power. But it sure does make you smile because it’s so cute.
So many people come to see and take picture with the duck. It was very crowded when I went there. It’s so hard taking good photo of the duck without other people appear on it. Anddd a lot of people taking photo using selca bong a.k.a monopod a.k.a tongsis. It’s recently becoming a hit here. #cieyangbarutautongsis
If you don’t want to be separated from the duck, you can get your own duck on the pop-up shop. The little one, of course. 😉
